Wroclaw was called ´´the holy flower of Europe, a beautiful jewel among cities´´. Always an object of desire, it changed hands more than once. It belonged to Czechs, Poles, Hungarians and Germans. Walloons, Jews, Italians and Ruthenians also settled here. Nations, religions and cultures mixed and it often boiled in the melting pot of Wroclaw. But it was to the advantage of the city and its inhabitants.
